collection titled complicated love story

This collection began as a return to Lithuanian cultural heritage, but also to my own memories of home.

Linen became its foundation. A fabric cultivated for thousands of years, once believed to carry protective, almost magical qualities. Around it, I worked with lace & trims sourced from my grandmother’s archives, allowing something deeply personal to sit within each piece.

I also developed a custom check fabric, drawn from traditional Lithuanian dress, and explored familiar elements of silhouette and construction, box and knife pleats, vests, aprons, and headpieces as fragments to be reinterpreted.

Alongside the garments, I created handmade ceramic accessories, each one referencing symbols discovered through research into Lithuanian folk art & craft.

Rather than preserving tradition as something fixed, this collection approaches it as something living to be reimagined, reshaped, and carried forward, both within Lithuania and beyond.
